Everyday With Rachel Ray!

Sure, i review foods, movies, and nifty kitchen tools, but i thought i might review a different food related item, a magazine. Everyday with Rachel Ray is a lifestyle/food magazine similar to Cooking Light or Real Simple (or Martha Stewart Living? but i think thats out of print since her jail fiasco).  Now, i used to appreciate Rachel when she was simply a quirky 30 min meal cook four years ago. Now, shes downright getting on my nerves (have you seen her own brand of EVOO???).  I thought i'd loath her magaizne too (cause her shows aint that impressive anymore) but actually, the magazine is perfect cause i get yummy, down to earth realistic food advice and recipes minus tha annoying Yum-O attitude and voice. Most of the recipes are indeed super simple and quite healthy (i loved the turkey chiptole burger recipe!).   I especially like the last page of the zine where they take a photo of a celebrity's fridge and ask them about what's inside.  Good magazine with a real down to earth attitude without her overly excited remarks about peeling carrots.

Rachael Ray

Hard to believe a boomer would have anything in common with Racheal Ray. I have not used a cook book in years. I have so many recipies in my head there was no need. But I do enjoy watching her show and did read her magazine (my daughter-in-law subscribes to it) and actually like it.

Everyday w/ Rachael Ray

I subscribe to both Everyday and Real Simple. I actually like Real Simple better because of it's mix of food (recipes) and it teaches you how to use everyday objects in new and exciting ways to make your life "Real Simple."

I also like to take out recipes from Everyday and put them in a binder. This way, I save the recipes that look good and then I can recycle the magazine.

Another great find I recently discovered is the cookbook "4 Ingredient Meals" by Betty Crocker. It is brilliant.

I demand the head of Rachel
