I apologize once again for the spotty reviews, Yoga Instructor training is grueling! But the other day during our ""lunch break" (which is a skimpy 15 min to gather food from local joints and scarf it down), I got a snack at the Rite Aid downstairs from the Yoga studio. I was tempted to get my usual go-to pick me up, TWIX!
You know there are a few things that put me in a better mood. Kind like the song from "The Sound of Music", I have a few "favorite things" which don't make me feel so sad. Personally, whiskers on kittens send chills up my spine and snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes piss the hell out of me (hey, I'm from L.A. where its 75 and breezy all year round). Brown paper packages tied up with strings make my suspicious of a uni-bomber or anthrax.
Ah quaker, a very old company that i have an ambivalent relationship with. They do churn out very good products that many other companies tried to emulate (their toasted oatmeal squares was may standard breakfast from age six to sixteen, after that i had to change it up a bit cuase i realized how long ive been having the same breakfast!). And some stuff is, eh...(don't reach for those breakfast cookies.
Health and fitness magazines sometimes really baffle me. As i was skiming through a number of them i realized that they often contradict each other. Women's Health has a "Eat this" "Not That" segment where they compare a food with their nutritionally sound counterpart. but the weird thing is, Self magzine boasts the counterpart to be part of their "SELF diet" plan. For instance, Women's Health was saying forgo popcorn and get an ounce of baked chips, while Self magazine gave 2 cups of popcorn as part of thier "snack" ideas.
As ironic that my pen name is "hungry waif", i am sorta sick of this ultra thinned out trend. Razr cell phones, ipods, tv screens, computer, nicole richie (although now with the "bump" coming in), GAH!
Damn, nabisco must really want to get this product out there. They are handing out free samples online and i saw a beautiful pyramid display of it at the grocery store. These are apparently made with a "blend of real vegtables" and "whole grains". 16 chips are 120 calories with 4 g fat (none saturated), 3 g fiber, 2 g sugar, and 2 g protien. Last time i recieved an online sample it was the soyjoy, and that was a harsh experience for my jaw and tastebuds. And, the flat earth fruit crisps weren't that good either, so i was thinking these might be a downer as well.
Pretzles are fairly simple snacks, but actually, when you think about the different kinds, they are very complex. Some people prefer the tiny ones, some people like them in nuggets, or giant hard ones, heavily/lightly/unsalted, soft, etc.
