Trident Passionberry twist Gum!

hungry waif's picture

Gum is such a complex item. Some people are addicts. they buy huge costco sized packs and if they arent eating or drinking, they are chewing gum (i hope they take it our if they go to the gym! i once saw a woman popping bubbles on the elliptical!). Some, like me, chew a stick or two a day, but they can go without, its usually chewed in situations where your easily bored, a letcture, traffic (i pop in traffic), or maybe a bad reality tv show.  And then Extra gum went on this whole campaign saying chewing gum will make you slim.  its an ok trick if you choose a sugar free gum to avoid those mindless hand-to-mouth actions you may have when surrounded by chips and candy, but i wouldn't rely on gum being some heaven scent weight loss solution of any sort.  Alright, got that gum lecture out of the way.  Anyways, i am loyal to the Trident blueberry twist, i relatively knew flavor they came out with about a year ago. so i was very excited to see this years knew flavor, passionberry twist.  Its like most, standard, sugar-free gums, 5 calories a stick and sweetened with xylitol.  Taste: well its got a nice fruity flavor i cant quite put my finger on, but its slightly minty! i didn't mind the minty-ness, but i didn't expect it.  the tropical fruit and blueberry twist dont have any minty flavors at all.  It was ok, i finished the pack within a week and half or so. I am still going to stick (pun intended) to my blueberry twist though. overall grade, b+, i would have liked a word of warning about the mint.

Hmmmmmmm, I tend to think

Hmmmmmmm, I tend to think gum is meant to be minty (I like it to leave my mouth feeling clean, not dirty), but fruit and mint together sounds a little frightening... almost like a girly club drink.
